Well done to all those children and teachers that made a great effort in walking to school today.  The weather unfortunately wasn’t very kind to us but still everyone made a great effort.

The Mad shoes were amazing and lot of hard work went into decorating them.  We all went to the halla in the morning and each class had an opportunity to show off their fancy footwear!  Don’t discard your mad shoes as we will have another Mad shoe Day after Easter.  Fingers crossed for finer weather.

Well done again everyone for making such a big effort today for our WOW day.  Don’t forget every Wednesday is a WOW day.

Our expert gardeners have been busy over the past few weeks.  Junior infants and senior infants have planted elsanta strawberry plants in the raised beds.  The plants have been covered so that they will ripen in early, hopefully around the end of May or beginning of June.  A big thank-you to John Kent for putting up the strawberry tunnels.  He will be rewarded in the summer with juicy strawberries.

First class boys and girls have planted raspberry canes.  The children planted Autumn Bliss canes, these will bear their fruit at the beginning of September, just in time for us when we come back to school.

Has anyone noticed the naughty puppy in the raspberry cane bed?

We are relaunching our WOW day this Wednesday.  We are asking everyone (including teachers) to walk to school on Wednesday and every other Wednesday from then on.  If you can’t walk to school from your house maybe you park and stride or cycle.  It is a great way of getting some exercise and it can also be great fun!  Mad shoe day will also take place on Wednesday.  Who will have the maddest pair of shoes on the day?  I think it will be one of the teachers but I could be wrong.

So dust down those runners everyone and lets get walking.

February 8th is the 100th day in school in our school. All this week the senior classes have been doing activities around the number 100. Today we all wrapped up and went out to the yard.
