This week we started to use ipod touches in our classroom. We have been using them to practice our tables and spellings. We have played lots of games and we are learning lots. We have also used them to find information on the internet. Watch this space over the coming weeks to see what else we learn with the ipods.

For art on Friday we made sock puppets using old socks and various types of materials. Stay tuned for our puppet shows!
We made a photostory of Little Red Riding Hood. We divided the story into different sections. We each drew a picture for our section. Then we took a photo of our picture using the camera. Teacher uploaded the photos onto the computer. We made a photostory. Everybody had to add a narration to their slide so we could tell the story.

On Thursday 3rd March we had a science workshop in our class with Michelle. We learned about acids, polymers, secret writing and we made an explosion. We had a lot of fun being scientists for the morning. We had to wear goggles to protect our eyes.
We listened to music composed by Saint-Saens called “The Elephant”. We painted pictures about this piece of music.
We painted scenes from our novel “The Owl who was Afraid of the Dark”
We wrote a newspaper report about the three blind mice. Have you seen them?

Our class novel was Chinese Cinderella written by Adeline Yen mah. We spent a few weeks reading it and working on written activities. We designed a diorama of various scenes from the book. All we enjoyed the novel!
We really enjoyed sharing books together for World Book Day.

Thursday 3rd March
Today we started reading ‘The Diary of Anne Frank’. Anne received her diary as a present for her birthday. We learnt many things about Anne in the first few entries. She feels that she has many friends without any close friend. She explained how she doesn’t confide in her friends and therefore feels alone. For this reason, she decided to write her diary entries as if she was talking to a close friend …. whom she would call … Kitty.
