I would like to welcome all the children to Room 2 and I hope that we have a great year together. Watch this space for exciting updates!

We went on a lovely summer walk to Redmond park with all our friends in 1st class on Tuesday. We were looking for all the wonderful signs that summer is here and we found plenty. We brought the iPods with us to take pictures – have a look for yourself ..!
Our Christmas Show is called ‘Whoops-a-daisy Angel’. We did our dress rehearsal this morning and it went very well. We look forward to all the mams, dads and other relatives and friends coming to see us on Monday at 9:30. Thank you to the parents for sorting out the children with costumes.
This week we celebrated Hallowe’en by doing a number of fun activities!
We had Spooky Story time. We hid on the stage with the curtains closed and the lights turned off. We lit the candles in our pumpkins and read The Witches! Mr. Gately was very surprised to find us up there!
We made Spooky Jelly! We melted orange jelly in a big bowl. We put a spooky treat in the bottom of our cups. Then we poured in the jelly and let it set in the fridge. We gobbled it up today!
We carved out our pumpkins, learned scary songs, did bingo as Gaeilge and painted our faces.
Happy Hallowe’en.
We have been learning about Autumn. We gathered up Autumn materials such as leaves. pine cones, acorns and conkers. We examined them closely then we sketched what we saw.
