The Egyptians believed in life after death. They put these beautiful masks on their pharaohs when they died so they would look beautiful in their afterlife.
That’s why we made our own original masks.
It might be a good idea to use them for Halloween.

Well done to the boys and girls in Junior Infants on performing a lovely Christmas show today. They were busy learning their lines and songs for the past month and Ms. Hughes was very proud of them today.
HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!

Our Christmas Show is called ‘Whoops-a-daisy Angel’. We did our dress rehearsal this morning and it went very well. We look forward to all the mams, dads and other relatives and friends coming to see us on Monday at 9:30. Thank you to the parents for sorting out the children with costumes.

The girls in 3rd class have been learning all about Ancient Egypt over the past few weeks. We learned that the Ancient Egyptians were one of the first people to use a type of alphabet to record information. Their alphabet was called Hieroglyphics. Instead of the letters we use, they used smbols that represented each of the sounds. We used the Hieroglyphics to record our names in these cartouches. A cartouche is an oval shape that the Egptyians used to record their names and the names of their pharaohs. We hope you like them!!

We recently held our annual Recycled Christmas Decorations Competition. The number of entries and the standard was the highest ever. If you click on the link below you can see some of the beautiful creations. Well done to everyone for your wonder imaginations and your hard work. 4 of the entries were chosen by an independent artist and those were sent to Wexford County Council Environment Dept. for display in their offices. The chosen decorations were created by Cáit Whitmore in Senior Infants, Clíona Mc Cormack in 3rd, Gia Simmons in 5th, and a group of 6th class girls (Alannah Corcoran, Caoimhe O Sullivan, Ciara Rochford, Clodagh Bruen and Hannah Malone).
